The Ecoblox Seawall Project leverages 3D printing concrete as an innovative construction method to create modular, interlocking shoreline systems that promote marine biodiversity and enhance coastal resilience. By using additive manufacturing, Ecoblox integrates AI-driven designs and sustainable principles to produce structures with complex geometries and surface textures that serve as microhabitats for marine organisms like oysters and barnacles. This approach minimizes material waste, accelerates construction, and supports environmental goals by transforming traditional seawalls into vibrant ecosystems. Field testing is underway at multiple sites in Biscayne Bay, aiming to validate the system’s performance in mitigating erosion, fostering biodiversity, and collecting real-time water quality data through embedded sensors, marking a significant advancement in eco-friendly coastal infrastructure.
